Millwood runner-up in 2024 opener at Talladega Short Track
Opening up his 2024 racing season in January, Tyler Millwood unloaded his Millwood Plumbing No. 31 at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) on Friday afternoon for night one of the 33rd-running of the Ice Bowl.
With a strong field of 36 Crate Racin' USA Late Models on the premises, Millwood missed the setup in qualifying but made up for it in his heat race with a fifth-to-second charge.
With the $4,000-to-win A-Main slated for Saturday, Tyler would earn the seventh-place starting position on the grid. Sticking just inside the Top-5 for most of the event, Millwood stormed forward on a couple late restarts to land runner-up after 40-laps. He trailed race-winner Will Roland while Matt Henderson, Cory Hedgecock, and Cruz Skinner completed the Top-5.
