Holland scores Southern Raceway victory

Chase Holland and his Industrial Dock & Door No. 45 Modified team traveled to Milton, Florida’s Southern Raceway over the weekend to compete in the seventh annual Battle at the Beach. They left the 3/8-mile oval with a win and a third-place finish.

After driving to the third-place result among 24 Modified entries on Friday, Holland began the Saturday portion of the program with a third-to-first run in his heat. He started second in the 20-lap, $1,000-to-win feature and led flag-to-flag, taking his first victory of the year by 2.263 seconds over Jade Luzenberg. Ethan Braaksma claimed the third position, while Trevor Fitz and Tanner Barnhart finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Holland’s win came on the heels of the Friday night opener in which he finished third in his heat race, then drove from ninth to third in the 20-lap, $1,000-to-win A-Main. He chased Luzenerg and Donnie Barnhart under the checkered flag, with Hunter Breland taking fourth and Todd Neiheiser coming home fifth.
