Jon Mitchell scores CCSDS top-10 finish at Arrowhead
Texarkana, Texas, native Jon Mitchell traveled to the Sooner and Show-Me States over the weekend for a double dip with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS). He drove his W& W Timber No. 5 Super Late Model to a best finish of seventh.
On Friday, 40 CCSDS pilots descended on Colcord, Oklahoma, and the 1/3-mile Arrowhead Speedway for the Triple Threat. Mitchell claimed third in his heat race and went on to finish seventh in the 35-lap, $5,000-to-win feature after starting 11th.
The next night, 35 CCSDS teams traveled to Missouri’s Springfield Raceway in search of another $5,000 winner’s share at March Madness. After a fifth-place result in his heat on the quarter-mile oval, Mitchell used a B-Main win to start 17th in the 40-lap main event. He advanced six positions in the race to come home 11th.
Mitchell is eighth in CCSDS points after two weekends of competition thus far in 2024.
