Runner-up finish with Xtreme Outlaw Series at Southern IL Center

Ryan Timms hopped behind the wheel of the Keith Kunz Motorsports No. 67 Midget over the weekend to kick off his pursuit for the Xtreme Outlaw Series championship at the Southern Illinois Center (Du Quoin, Ill.).

Following a 12th-place finish in Friday’s opener, Timms raced into Saturday night’s $5,000-to-win finale with a third-place finish in his heat. Starting in 12th, Ryan wasted no time working forward as he was up to sixth by the halfway mark of the 40-lapper. He nearly nosed ahead of Cannon McIntosh on the final lap but came up 0.117 seconds short at the line to place second.

With the first two events in the books, Timms is currently fifth in the Xtreme Outlaw Series point standings.
