Trent Ivey
Runner-up finish at home track Cherokee Speedway in Big Chief 40
Kicking off a busy Easter weekend of racing, Trent Ivey returned to the driver's seat of the Shurling Motorsports No. 4G on Friday afternoon at Ultimate Motorsports & RV Park (Elkin, N.C.) for the $10,000-to-win Doug Walls Memorial.
Grabbing the final transfer spot in his heat race, Ivey started the 48-lap feature from the seventh-row but was an early retiree on lap seven.
Heading to his home track of Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Saturday, Trent qualified second-fastest in his group which placed him on the second-row for the $7,500-to-win feature. Staying inside the Top-3 for the majority of the 40-lap main event, Ivey recorded a runner-up finish behind race-winner Zack Mitchell.
