Chase Holland

Two wins in a row for Holland at Hattiesburg

Chase Holland competed in two classes at a pair of Mississippi racetracks over the weekend, coming away with one win and no finish worse than seventh.

The full slate of racing kicked off on Friday, when Holland traveled to Hattiesburg Speedway and entered both his Modified and Crate Model at the quarter-mile oval.

In the Modified division, he finished as runner-up in his heat race and rolled off second in the 15-lap A-Main. He took his second checkered flag in as many weeks at the track in the feature, reaching the start-finish line in front of Hunter Breland, Chase Shoemake, Ben Davis and Leslie Brown. The win was Holland’s fourth of the season. Meanwhile, in the Crate Late Model ranks, Holland started fourth and finished seventh.

Saturday saw Holland visit Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, where he also participated in both the Open Wheel Modifieds and 604 Late Models.

He claimed the third finishing position in his Modified heat and started the 15-lap feature from the second row on the quarter-mile track. He climbed one spot to record a runner-up result, trailing Greg Hollingsworth by 3.143 seconds at the line. Robert Casada took the third spot, with Toby Hodge and Bryan Powell finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.

In the 604 Late Model program at the “House of Hook,” Holland snared third in his heat race, putting him fifth on the grid to start the A-Main. Holland drove to a fourth-place finish in the 20-lapper, trailing Chris McElhenney, Casey Haney and Chase Cooper. David Williamson rounded out the top five.
