McCowan Races into MLRA Season Opener

Dillon McCowan kicked off the 2024 Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) campaign over the weekend with the Spring Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.).

A star studded field of 44 competitors entered the doubleheader at the state-of-the-art oval on Friday. McCowan's night started with speed as he laid down the fourth-fastest time in his qualifying group before finishing second in his heat race. Dillon started eighth in the feature but battled the handle as slipped back in the field before ultimately retiring to a 16th-place finish on the 37th circuit.

On Saturday Dillon again enjoyed speed early in the night before sliding back in the feature to register a 15th-place finish in the $20,000-to-win affair.
