Top-10 finish in WoO prelim at Talladega Short Track
Back with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series after Thursday’s scheduled stop at Thunderhill Raceway Park (Summertown, Tenn.) fell to wet weather, Nick Hoffman unloaded the Tye Twarog Racing No. 9 Late Model at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) on Friday for the two-day Alabama Gang 100.
Buried by his qualifying effort for Friday’s preliminary feature that was paying $5,000 to the winner, Hoffman charged forward eight spots in the 25-lapper to salvage a ninth-place finish.
On Saturday, Nick followed up a fourth-place finish in his heat with a runner-up showing in his B-Main. He was slated to start the $35,000-to-win Alabama Gang 100 A-Main in 21st before a threatening rain shower forced the postponement of the 75-lap affair to September 15th.
Nick remains third in the latest World of Outlaws point standings.
