Logan Zarin

Logan Zarin drives to runner-up finish at Marion Center Raceway

Entering his All American Framers No. 1Z Late Model into battle with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Logan Zarin invaded Georgetown Speedway (Georgetown, Del.) on Friday afternoon for the Melvin L. Joseph Memorial.

Against a stacked field of 40 Late Models, Zarin followed up the 11th-fastest qualifying effort in his group with a seventh-place finish in his heat. Needing a second-place finish or better in his B-Main to qualify for the $19,049-to-win A-Main, Logan came three spots short with a fifth-place outing.

With Saturday’s Conococheague 50 at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Md.) washed out by Mother Nature, Zarin resorted to plan b at Marion Center Raceway (Marion Center, Pa.) and was able to end the night with a podium finish. Starting the feature in eighth, Logan advanced forward six positions to register a second-place finish, chase Jon Lee to the checkers.

The weekend concluded on Sunday with Logan rejoining the LOLMDS for Battle in the Borough at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.). The Hookstown, Pa., native gained speed in his heat race and B-Main but his bid for the $10,000-to-win A-Main fell short with a fifth-place finish in his consolation race.
