Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels Mother’s Day Shootout at Atomic Speedway for May 11 Cancelled
SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (May 10, 2024)- Officials with the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels and officials with Atomic Speedway have agreed to make the tough decision to cancel the Mother’s Day Shootout scheduled for Saturday, May 11. The event will not be rescheduled.
Atomic Speedway received heavy amounts of rain earlier in the week and received even more rain late Thursday evening and with the forecasted chance of more rain possible on Saturday and the cooler temperatures forecasted for the area that would hamper any drying out process, series and track officials thought it would be in the best interest of the race teams and race fans to cancel the event.
The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Fueled by VP Racing Fuels will now begin the 2004 racing season with a tripleheader of racing on Memorial Day weekend, beginning on Friday May 24 at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, OH, Saturday May 25 at Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon, OH, and Sunday May 26 at Mudlick Valley Raceway in Wallingford, KY. All three of those events will pay $5,000 to win and $500 to start.
