Chase Holland tops Charleston Speedway on Mother’s Day weekend

Trips to three Illinois tracks in as many days were on tap for Chase Holland and his Industrial Dock & Door No. 45 Modified team on Friday through Sunday. Along the way, Holland picked up one victory and another podium finish.

Holland’s Land of Lincoln odyssey began on Friday evening at Farmer City Raceway, where 33 DIRTcar UMP Modfieds were chasing a $2,000 victory as part of the Farmer City 74 event. Holland finished sixth in his heat race on the quarter-mile oval and used a B-Main win to move into the 24-lap feature. He started 16th in the race and drove to an 11th-place finishing position.

The next night, Holland and his team moved on to Charleston Speedway for a Mother’s Day Special. With 21 Modifieds at the quarter-mile track, Holland qualified with the third-quickest time and finished second in his heat race. He started the 20-lap A-Main from the sixth position and took over the top spot on the seventh circuit. He went on to lead the rest of the way and took his 10th feature victory of the year by 1.239 seconds over Deece Schwartz. Danny Schwartz, Rob Fuqua and Kasey Schrock rounded out the top five.

Holland’s Illinois trip concluded on Sunday with a visit to Adams County Speedway in Quincy, Illinois, to take part in an 18-car Modified program at the quarter-mile oval. Holland topped qualifying during hot laps and won his heat race from the pole. He began the 20-lap feature from the top spot and ultimately came home third behind Austin Becerra and Dave Wietholder. Fourth place went to Mike Vanderiet Jr. and Jacob Rexing finished fifth.
