Carson Ferguson 12th in Show-Me 100; shows speed in FNiA event at Macon Speedway
Following the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to Missouri, Carson Ferguson was among a stout 63-car field at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the first night of the Show-Me 100 weekend.
For Thursday's $10,000-to-win Cowboy Classic, Ferguson was running fourth in his heat race when mechanical issues caused him to a record a DNF. Despite charging forward in his B-Main, Carson still came up one spot short with a third-place finish.
Hoping for better luck on Friday evening, Carson laid down the fifth-fastest lap in qualifying group before finishing runner-up to Ricky Thornton Jr. in his heat race. Rolling off 10th in the Tribute to Don and Billie Gibson, Ferguson made up three positions to record a Top-10 finish in seventh.
Locked into Saturday's $50,000-to-win Show-Me 100, Ferguson rolled off 13th in the 80-lap feature. Carson fell back to 20th early in the going but rallied to finish just outside Top-10 in 12th.
Ferguson is currently 22nd in the LOLMDS point standings.
Making a stop at Macon (Ill.) Speedway on Tuesday afternoon for the $20,000-to-win Castrol FloRacing Night in America opener, Ferguson qualified 10th-quickest among 27 competitors and finished fifth. Racing his way into the Top-5 and even running as high as third in the 50-lap feature, Carson spun just before halfway and was unable to recover. Ferguson recorded a 12th-place finish.
