Mills tackles busy weekend with Hell Tour and Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series
Adding a couple extra races onto his Midwestern tour, Trey Mills followed the DIRTcar Summer Nationals to Davenport (Iowa) Speedway on Tuesday afternoon to kick off the second week of the Hell Tour.
Among a stout 38-car field, Mills fell back in his heat race but rallied for the second position in his last chance showdown which transferred him to the $5,000-to-win feature. With only 30 laps to work with, Trey made up six positions to finish just outside the Top-10 in 12th.
Dealing with mechanical problems at Adams County Speedway (Quincy, Ill.) on Wednesday, Mills was unable to finish his heat race. After receiving a provisional starting spot for the $5,000-to-win feature, Trey recorded a 16th-place finish.
Heading back closer to home on Friday afternoon, Trey Mills rejoined the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series at Lancaster (S.C.) Motor Speedway on Friday afternoon for the Buddy Crook Memorial.
Taking a provisional to start the $12,000-to-win main event, Mills kept his nose clean and slowly made his way into the Top-10 to record an eighth-place finish.
Making the trip to another red clay racetrack on Saturday, Trey was one of 35 Super Late Models at Cherokee (S.C.) Speedway for the Rock Gault Memorial. Once again taking a provisional, Mills recorded a 19th-place finish.
Mills is currently seventh in the HTFSDS point standings.
