Nick Hoffman banks $15,000 Hoosier Dirt Classic at Brownstown

One night after seeing a World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series slip from his grips, Nick Hoffman triumphantly gained redemption on Saturday night with a $15,000 series victory at Brownstown Speedway aboard the Tye Twarog Racing / NOS Energy Drink No. 9 C&W Trucking / Longhorn Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

A night after a brush with the wall cost him a chance at a win at Ponderosa Speedway, Hoffman utilized the high line of Jim Price’s Brownstown Speedway to collect his series’ best fourth win of the year and fifth win overall on the season.

“I’ve won in (the high) line so many times in my modified, so I knew eventually that bottom would get burned up, as long as them guys didn’t just keep pushing them infield tires in,” Hoffman said in Victory Lane. “I was kinda frustrated there, just caution after caution, it felt like nothing would go my way that race and finally it did. I was able to clear (Sorensen) there right at the line before the (lap-33) caution. I fell like I gave one away last night at Ponderosa (Speedway), so this is nice redemption.”

As the busy season ramps up, Nick Hoffman returned to competition with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series on Thursday afternoon to compete in the Summertown Showdown at Thunderhill Raceway Park (Summertown, Tenn.).

In the opener of the three-race swing, Hoffman was an early exit from his heat race but was able to rebound with a top-10 finish in the feature. Launching from the 10th row, Nick advanced forward 12 positions in the 40-lapper to register a seventh-place finish.

For the Billy Todd Classic on Friday evening at Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ken.), Nick qualified fifth-fastest in his group before placing second in his heat race. With the redraw placing him on the front row for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Hoffman shot out to an early lead over Brandon Sheppard but contact with the turn-two wall on lap 28, while leading, shuffled him back to sixth when the checkers flew.

Seeking redemption on Saturday evening at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway, Hoffman raced into the 41st annual Hoosier Dirt Classic A-Main with a win in his heat race. Starting in second, Nick tracked down pole-starting Dustin Sorensen on lap 32 and paced the remaining 19 circuits to claim his fifth win of the season and the $15,000 top prize.

He recorded his fifth career WoO triumph ahead of Sorensen, Bobby Pierce, Max McLaughlin, and Brandon Sheppard.

Hoffman is currently 12 points behind Brandon Sheppard for the lead in the latest World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series point standings.
