Dustin Sorensen lands first podium finish with World of Outlaws at Brownstown
Kicking off a long trip with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series, Dustin Sorensen checked into Thunderhill Raceway (Summertown, Tenn.) on Thursday afternoon for the first race of a three-day weekend.
Handling a rough and tumble racetrack, Sorensen started 22nd in the feature event and gained 10 positions to finish 12th.
Heading into Kentucky on Friday, Sorensen recorded another 12th-place finish in the Billy Todd Classic at Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.).
Picking up the pace on at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway on Saturday, Dustin qualified ninth-quickest in his group before going third-to-second in his heat. Redrawing the pole for the $15,000-to-win Hoosier Dirt Classic, Sorensen led the first 31 laps before giving away the lead to Nick Hoffman. Dustin ran runner-up to Hoffman while Bobby Pierce completed the podium.
Sorensen is currently ninth in the series point standings.
