Ashton Winger scores podium finish at Cherokee Speedway with Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series
Continuing his championship chase with the series, Ashton Winger unloaded his Mathews Motorsports No. 12 machine at Lancaster (S.C.) Motor Speedway on Friday afternoon for the Buddy Crook Memorial.
With 27 Hunt the Front Super Late Models signed in, Winger started sixth in the $12,000-to-win feature and brought home a Top-5 finish in fifth.
Keeping up his momentum at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Saturday, Ashton qualified third-quickest in his group before running second in his heat. With another big payday on the line, Winger kept his nose clean and came out with a podium finish in third. He trailed Zack Mitchell and Ross Bailes while Donald McIntosh and Trent Ivey completed the Top-5.
