Overton competes in HTF doubleheader at Lancaster and Cherokee
A pair of Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series events brought Brandon Overton and the Wells Motorsports team to the Carolinas over the weekend as he looked to extend his lead atop the series' standings.
For the Buddy Crook Memorial on Friday at Lancaster Motor Speedway (Lancaster, S.C.), Overton was sidelined while running fourth in the main event with front suspension damage that resulted in a 20th-place finish.
Follow the series to Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Saturday for the Rock Gault Memorial, Brandon topped the 35-car field in time trials before placing first in his heat. Gunning for the $20,000 top prize in the feature, Overton fought lingering suspension issues to a 12th-place finish in the 50-lapper.
Overton holds a 64-point lead atop the latest HTF Series standings.
