SUNSHINE BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND: Tyler Courtney Scores Lucas Oil Prelim Win from 9th
On Friday night, Kubota High Limit Racing debuted at world-class facility Lucas Oil Speedway and boy did "The Diamond of Dirt Tracks" deliver to the teams and fans.
Offering four different leaders in the 30-lap Diamond Classic preliminary main, fans saw Sye Lynch, Corey Day, Brad Sweet, and Tyler Courtney all lead their fair share of laps.
Surging from the ninth-starting spot, "Sunshine" Tyler Courtney came to life late in the running and stole his fourth Kubota High Limit Racing win of the season away from championship contender Brad Sweet on Lap 25.
Cashing the DURST Dice Roll bonus as well, Courtney boosted his winnings to $14,500, while also sending lucky fan Patrick Walker home with $4,500 in his pocket. It was the ninth overall win this year for the Clauson-Marshall Racing, NOS Energy Drink #7BC team.
Championship leader Brad Sweet settled for runner-up honors after leading Laps 17-24. That's ten top-two finishes with Kubota High Limit Racing for the Kasey Kahne Racing, NAPA Auto Parts #49.
Rounding out the podium was James McFadden and Roth Motorsports with an impressive 13th-to-3rd charge.
Closing out the top-10 was Tanner Thorson, Sye Lynch, Justin Peck, Hunter Schuerenberg, Chris Windom, Jacob Allen, and Zeb Wise.
