Nothdurft scores Top-10 finish with World of Outlaws at Independence

With the World of Outlaws close to home, Blair Nothdurft joined the series for their week-long trip starting at Independence (Iowa) Motor Speedway on Monday afternoon for the $10,000-to-win Storm Shield Shootout.

Finishing third in his heat race, Nothdurft started the 40-lap main event from the fifth-row and moved passed three competitors to finish just outside the Top-5 in sixth.

With a quick turnaround to Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa) on Tuesday, Blair started further back in the field and brought home a 13th-place finish.

After an off-day on Wednesday, the team rolled into I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minn.) on Thursday before rain showers washed out the evening.

The following night at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, N.D.) was also rained out and postponed.

Finally dodging the rain at Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minn.) on Saturday, Nothdurft laid down the second-quickest lap in his qualifying group and picked up a heat race victory. Rolling off fifth in the $15,000-to-win feature, Blair faded to finish outside the Top-10 in 13th.
