Thompson participates in Bacon Town Showdown

After a Saturday night washout at Webster City, Iowa’s Hamilton County Speedway, Cody Thompson traveled to Fairmont (Minnesota) Raceway on Sunday seeking a $2,000 payday in the One Nation Under Modifieds (ONUM) program at the half-mile track.

Thompson’s Dakota Coating Solutions No. 25c Modified was one of 16 in the class at the Bacon Town Showdown, which used a pair of heat races to set the starting lineup for the feature. Thompson started fifth and recorded a DNF in his heat with an eighth-place result. He didn’t start the 25-lap A-Main.

The night before, Thompson had planned to compete in the $1,100-to-win Mike Baker Memorial Race at Hamilton County Speedway. Eighteen Modifieds were on the property, but none turned a competitive lap before rain washed away the evening. The makeup date is set for Saturday, July 27.
