Mike Marlar caps off Silver Dollar Nationals with sixth-place finish in finale
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) brought Mike Marlar and 26 competitors to Eagle (NE) Raceway on Monday afternoon for the inaugural High Bank Heist.
After racing into the opener with a fourth-place heat finish, Mike was forced to surrender his position while running seventh on lap 22 of the feature after his hood flew open, blocking his field of vision. He was scored 21st in the final rundown.
For the Kosiski Family 53 on Tuesday at Shelby County Speedway (Harlan, Iowa), Marlar rebounded with a 21st-to-11th run in the 40-lap feature after scratching from his B-Main.
Invading Huset’s Speedway (Brandon, S.D.) on Thursday for the 14th annual Silver Dollar Nationals weekend, Mike got off to a rough start in prelims but was able to rebound in Saturday’s finale.
Starting the $53,000-to-win A-Main in 18th, Marlar marched forward 12 spots in the 80-lap affair to register an impressive sixth-place finish.
His weekend concluded with a fifth-place finish in the XR Super Series A-Main on Sunday at Clay County Fair Speedway (Spencer, Iowa). He chased Bobby Pierce, Hudson O'Neal, Devin Moran, and Ricky Thornton Jr. to the checkers.
