Mckay Wenger
Fourth-place finish with MARS at Adams County Speedway
A tripleheader weekend with the MARS Late Model Championship Series kicked off for McKay Wenger and the Curless Motorsports team on Friday with a short trip to Farmer City (IL) Raceway for the Jr. Kimler Memorial.
Looking for his third career triumph in the annual event at the Illinois oval, Wenger backed up a runner-up heat showing with a seventh-place finish in the feature.
For the Tribute to Don Klein on Saturday at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 (Pevely, Mo.), Mckay was sidelined while running fourth in the feature after large dirt clod struck his helmet.
On Sunday, Wenger raced into the MARS Late Model Championship Series weekend finale at Adams County Speedway (Quincy, Ill.) with a second-place finish in his heat. Gunning for another $5,000 payday in the feature, McKay steered to a fourth-place finish in the 40-lapper. He trailed Dennis Erb Jr., Ryan Unzicker, and Jason Feger to the checkers with Matt Bailey coming in fifth.
