Pete Frazier Memorial Set For Labor Day Weekend Run At Port City Raceway

Bryan Hulbert—TULSA, Okla. (August 8, 2024) The calendar turning to August means it is almost time for the 25th annual Pete Frazier Memorial, which is promoted and directed by Kristy McDougal, Matt Ward, and Ashleigh Ward.

Contested in Sweet Springs, Mo., in 2023, the Labor Day Weekend tradition returns to Tulsa’s Port City Raceway in 2024 on Friday, August 30, and Saturday, August 31, with a practice for teams on Thursday, August 29. The event is part of the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division. Featured classes at the 2024 event include Non-Wing Outlaw, Sportsman, Stock Non-Wing, A-Class, Restricted, and Junior Sprints.

Thursday’s practice will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with pits opening at 3:00 p.m. (CDT). Pit Passes are $25 with grandstands open for free to the general public. Following practice, there will be a free cookout for teams to attend with Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Snow Cones, and Bottled Water.

Friday, August 30, and Saturday August 31, pits open at 1:00 p.m. with the grandstands opening at 5:00 p.m. Hot Laps on Friday gets underway at 7:30 p.m. while Saturday will see cars on track at 7:00 p.m. (CDT).

Friday night, grandstands are $12 for adults, $6 for seniors, youth (6-14), and free for kids five and under, as well as military with proper ID. Pit passes are $35.

Saturday, grandstands are $15 for adults, $8 for seniors, youth (6-14), and free for kids five and under, as well as military with proper ID. Pit Passes are $40.

Event format will take the top 14 in Heat Race passing points into the A-Feature on Friday night. The top four finishers, plus the Hard Charger, in each of Friday’s preliminary A-Features, will lock into their feature on Saturday night. Passing Points again on Saturday will take the top nine.
