Jason Feger earns $10,000 KerbyStrong 100 triumph at Macon Speedway

MARS Late Model Championship Series point leader Jason Feger returned with the series over the weekend for a tripleheader event at three different tracks in his home-state of Illinois.

For Friday's opener at Sycamore Speedway (Maple Park, Ill.), Jason topped the 27-car field in time trials before picking up a heat race win. Gunning for a $5,000 payday in the feature, Feger held onto a third-place finish in the 40-lapper after breaking a control arm within the first 10 circuits of the race.

After claiming the fast time honors again on Saturday at Macon (IL) Speedway, Feger raced into the KerbyStrong 100 A-Main with a flag-to-flag victory in his heat. Staying composed in 100-lap affair despite a lap-17 tangle that sentenced him to the tail, Jason overtook Justin Duty on lap 94 and paced the ensuing seven circuits to capture his 13th win of the 2024 season and the $10,000 winner’s payday. He finished 0.937 seconds ahead of Ryan Unzicker with Mike Spatola coming in third.

“Justin Duty did a great job there, he came and asked me for some advice before the race, I probably gave him too much, I guess,” Feger said. “He was using the whole track there, I had to get a little rough to pass him, but he knew what he was doing. Kerby Damery was a great guy, I was fortunate enough to race with him for years when I started. It’s great to win a race in his honor.”

Feger Racing’s weekend concluded with a third-place finish on Sunday at East Moline (IL) Speedway. He joined race-winner Ryan Unzicker and Garrett Alberson on the podium.

Jason holds a 37-point advantage atop the latest MARS Late Model Championship Series point standings.
