Herrington scores Top-5 outing in World 100 prelim at Eldora Speedway
After originally not planning to race on Wednesday, Wil Herrington unloaded his New Point Lighting and Design No. 14 Rocket XR1 at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) a day early for the Castrol FloRacing Night in America event.
Charging forward four positions in his heat race, Herrington was able to grab a transfer spot in his B-Main before placing 24th in the $20,000-to-win feature.
Kicking off his Eldora prelims well on Thursday, Herrington started fifth in the first $12,000-to-win main event and raced his way to a fourth-place finish. He trailed Ryan Gustin, Brandon Overton, and Jonathan Davenport while Ethan Dotson completed the Top-5.
Picking up a Top-10 finish on Friday with a seventh-place outing in his preliminary feature, Herrington earned a second-row starting spot in a heat race on Saturday. Falling back to seventh, Wil found himself in a B-Main where he was not able to make the $57,000-to-win finale.
