Tony Jackson Jr. extended his string of consecutive top-10 finishes to 13 over the weekend in the MLRA Fall Nationals program at Lucas Oil Speedway. He turned in three strong results during the tripleheader, culminating with a podium finish in the event finale.
On Thursday, 37 MLRA Super Late Model teams made their way to the 3/8-mile “Diamond of Dirt Tracks" in Wheatland, Missouri, for the $5,000-to-win Fall Nationals opener. Jackson took third in his heat race aboard his Willard Quarries No. 56 machine, starting him 11th in the 30-lap feature. He marched steadily forward to finish fifth behind Ryan Gustin, Chris Simpson, Justin Wells and Stormy Scott.
Another $5,000-to-win program on Friday brought 34 MLRA competitors to Wheatland. Jackson grabbed the fourth spot in his heat and climbed from 15th to come home ninth in the 30-lap A-Main.
Saturday’s event finale saw the winner's share doubled to $10,000, attracting 31 MLRA racers. Jackson also turned in his strongest results of the weekend on Saturday. He first posted a runner-up effort in his heat race, then began the 50-lap main event from fifth on the grid. He came home third, rounding out the podium behind Chris Simpson and Scott. Dillon McCowan and Chad Simpson completed the top five.
Jackson now sits third in MLRA points, 75 markers out of the top spot with just three events remaining in 2024.
