Nick Hoffman
Fourth-place finish in Mason-Dixon 100 finale at Pennsboro
Taking part in the soft reopening of the legendary egg-shaped oval, Nick Hoffman traveled to Pennsboro (W.Va.) Speedway on Thursday afternoon to pilot his Tye Twarog Motorsports No. 9 Late Model.
Drawing 27 XR Super Series entries for the first race in 22 years at the facility, Hoffman advanced into the opener with a heat race win. Gunning for the $10,000 preliminary payday, Nick rolled to a third-place finish.
After Mother Nature postponed Friday’s program, Nick returned to action on Saturday for the final two rounds of the Mason-Dixon 100 weekend. Following a third-place finish in Friday’s rescheduled event, Hoffman capped off the evening with a fourth-place finish in the $30,000-to-win Mason-Dixon 100 finale. He chased Bobby Pierce, Devin Moran, and Doug Drown to the checkers with Michael Lake finishing fifth.
