Logan Zarin tops Mason-Dixon 100 in Crate Late Model at Pennsboro
Taking part in the first race at the prestigious facility in over 22 years, Logan Zarin invaded Pennsboro (WV) Speedway over the weekend to compete in the XR Super Series-sanctioned Mason-Dixon 100.
With a pair of XR events on tap for Thursday and Friday before pulling double duty on Saturday, Zarin backed up the third-fastest qualifying lap on Thursday with a third-place finish in his heat. Chasing a $10,000 preliminary payday in the feature, Logan steered to a consistent seventh-place finish.
After Mother Nature washed out Friday's program, Logan returned to the egg-shaped oval on Saturday to compete in the Super and Crate Late Model ranks. Despite suffering a late flat tire in Friday's rescheduled A-Main, Zarin followed up a 12th-place finish with a seventh-place outing in the $30,000-to-win Mason-Dixon 100 finale later Saturday night.
In the Anarchy Kustoms No. 33X 604 Late Model, Zarin led flag-to-flag in the 20-lap feature to claim his first win of the season and the $2,000 paycheck. He finished 0.303 seconds ahead of Kyle Thomas with Anthony Kinkade rounding out the podium.
