Gavin Cowan captures 604 Late Model victory at Screven Motor Speedway

RINCON, Ga. (11/25/24) – Gavin Cowan claimed his first win of the season in commanding fashion over the weekend, clinching a clean sweep in Saturday's Georgia State Outlaw Championship at Screven Motor Speedway aboard his Supply Chain Management / Harco Construction / Team SRI Motorsports No. 19 Longhorn Chassis Crate Late Model.
The 17-year-old Georgia racer banked a $1,500 payday for his first 604 Crate Late Model victory of his young career.
“What an awesome hot rod,” Cowan said. “I knew after qualifying that we would have the car to beat. Can’t thank my awesome crew enough for all the work they do on my car. I am looking forward to carrying this momentum into the Gateway Dirt Nationals in a couple of weeks.”
Cowan unloaded his Supply Chain Management No. 19 Late Model at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Ga.) on Saturday afternoon for the 604 Late Model portion of the Georgia State Outlaw Championship.
After setting the pace in hot laps, Cowan secured the pole for the feature with the fastest lap overall in time trials. Leading the field to green, Gavin led flag-to-flag in the 20-lap affair to claim his first victory of the season and the $1,500 paycheck.
The Rincon, Georgia, youngster outran Jordan Yawn and Jordy Nipper to record his first career win in the 604 Crate Late Model ranks.

Gavin now turns his attention to his highly anticipated Gateway Dirt Nationals debut at The Dome at America’s Center next weekend. Friday's preliminary night will set the stage for Saturday's main event, where the winner will take home a $30,000 prize.
