Garrett Smith closes busy weekend with seventh-place finish at East Alabama
With a three-race stretch ahead of him, Garret Smith kicked off the weekend on Friday night at Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway for the first of two events with the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals.
With a strong field of 30 Late Models on the grounds, Smith qualified third-quickest in his group and started fifth in the $7,553-to-win main event before spinning while racing for fourth. He finished 21st.
The following night at Senoia (Ga.) Raceway, Garrett nabbed the final transfer spot in his heat race before finishing just outside the Top-10 in 11th.
Wrapping up the weekend at East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) on Sunday, Smith started 13th in the $10,000-to-win feature and wound up with a Top-10 finish in seventh.
