Safety Personnel Admitted Free Friday at DCRP!

Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (July 23, 2013) – Dodge City Raceway Park is set for a full night of racing action when the track honors Fire & Safety / EMS personnel during Friday night’s card that includes URSS Sprint Cars along with three of the track’s championship chase divisions.

All Fire & Safety as well EMS workers will be admitted to Friday night’s racing action for free.

Friday’s card, which gets under way at 7:30 p.m., includes the third DCRP stop of the season for the URSS 305 Sprint Cars in addition to the track’s IMCA Modified, United Wireless IMCA Sport Modifieds and IMCA Stock Cars.

Clay Sellard’s Sport Modified will be adorned with a special wrap honoring safety workers, with some panels with the unique wrap to be removed during the evening as keepsakes for some.

Dodge City’s Brian Herbert and Turpin, Oklahoma’s Taylor Velasquez have topped the initial two URSS events of the season at DCRP, though Jetmore’s Ray Seemann is atop the series point charts entering Friday’s action.

Austin Allen, Jeff Kaup and Billy Phelps lead the way into Friday’s card in the track’s championship chase divisions.

Goddard’s Allen holds just a five-point lead over Jon Herring, Jr., in the IMCA Modified ranks, Woodward’s Kaup has stretched his United Wireless IMCA Sport Modified advantage to 62 points over Sellard and Mooreland, Oklahoma’s Billy Phelps holds an 81-point lead over Marlin Hogie in the IMCA Stock Car ranks

Tickets to Friday’s Fire & Safety / EMS Appreciation Night featuring the URSS Sprint Cars along with Modifieds, Sport Modifieds and Stock Cars are just $12 for adults, with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult.

Just four of 18 scheduled nights of competition in 2013 at DCRP remain after this weekend’s Dodge City Modified Stampede including USAC Southwest Sprint Cars on August 23-24, championship chase action on August 31 and the season ending Jerry Soderberg Championship Memorial Event on September 28.
