Midwest Legends Dirt Series
Lewis Returns to MLDS Victory Lane at 141
Francis Creek, WI (July 16th, 2025) - In a vividly familiar sight, Jackson Lewis took the top step of the podium with the Midwest Legends Dirt Series at 141 Speedway once again, three hundred and one days since his last victory. His first win of the season also earned him a Weekday Warrior Series Presented by Spankins Motorsports victory.
It was a stout twenty-four car field at 141 Speedway on a warm summer night. All the regulars were in attendance for the second of four Weekday Warrior races, and the first of two at 141. Ryan Sullivan was a favorite after picking up a win earlier in the season at the track.
N&S Towing Heat Races were on the cards first for the night. Lewis was strong in heat one and picked up the win. A stacked heat race saw three of the top five in points in it, with Sullivan and Talyn Neuman bringing home second and third.
Heat two was equally as scary, but it was Dallas Ross who came out on top. A strong run for Art Hahn saw the dual discipline man take the second spot with Charlie Spoonmore coming home with third.
It was heat number three that saw Adam Zellmer go from third to first and pick up the win. Keith Moline, who had the longest drive of anyone in the field, finished second with Connor Carey picking up third in the end.
The twenty-lap A-Main was up onto the track next. Ross and Moline were drawn to the front and started the race. Ross got the jump and led, while Moline began to fall. Shuffling through the pack began as drivers left and right began fighting for spots. It was Lewis and Hayden Schmuhl who began to draw attention to themselves as the two drivers began to ride towards the front. Schmuhl, in Lewis’s 2024 championship car followed Lewis, in Eric Blumer’s car, around for a few laps before Lewis caught Ross for the lead, putting the works on him for the lead and getting it on lap eleven. The red flag was flown shortly after as Connor Carey ended up on his lid in turn number two. Carey was okay and towed off as the field lined up and racing got back underway. Lewis continued with the lead while Schmuhl began pursuit. Lewis jumped to a second advantage over the field and kept it there. Zellmer made his way up to third while a quick Lilly Fassbender turned heads on the highline, gaining numerous positions off the restart and subsequent laps. Out front, no one was able to catch the cat, who drove off into the night.
Jackson Lewis picked up the win over Schmuhl and Zellmer, with both drivers having a good points night both in the main championship and weekday championship. Ross held on to finish in fourth, with Sullivan wrapping up fifth.
With the win, Lewis earned himself an Aero Race Wheels and Rush Racegear award filled night. After moving up ten spots in the feature, Fassbender went home with the Professional Plating and Rush Racegear Hard Charger award. Keith Carey was given a birthday present after being drawn as the HMS Motorsports award winner.
It’s back to action for the Midwest Legends Dirt Series this coming Friday, July 18th, for a return to Gravity Park Speedway. The Weekday Warrior Series Presented by Spankins Motorsports returns in eight day's time. A trip to Maquoketa Speedway and the Jackson County Fair is bound to be exciting!!
