Morgan Ward takes on Dacotah Rumble

Over the last weekend in July, the Tri-State Late Model Series raced for two nights at Aberdeen, South Dakota’s Brown County Speedway. Morgan Ward competed in both feature events during the Dacotah Rumble at the 1/3-mile speed plant.

On Friday, 36 Late Model teams descended on Brown County for a $2,500-to-win program. Ward drove her DFS Insurance No. 37JR ride from eighth to third in her heat race, starting her seventh in the 30-lap feature. She finished 13th.

With a $5,000 winner’s share on the line the next night, Ward was among 33 Tri-State Late Model drivers at the track. She turned in results of fifth and sixth in her heats, and went on to lock into the feature with a runner-up result in her B-Main. She started 20th in the 35-lap finale and came home 14th.
