August Starts With a Bang. The Game Changer Pockets $1,000.00 from Midwest Liquid Systems

Marshalltown, Iowa (August 1st, 2025)

After Mother Nature wasn’t sure if she was going to let us race, we got a perfect night for racing at America’s Bucket List track (Marshalltown Speedway) with 132 cars checked in across six IMCA classes with $1,000.00 to win IMCA Stock Cars courtesy of Midwest Liquid Systems Night.

After a IMCA Hobby Stocks B-Main presented by Cappys Big 8 Tyre Center, it was time for the first feature of the night. The IMCA Mod Lites presented by Drury Automotive geared up to go 15 laps. Charlie Brown and Grant Anderson led the field to the green flag. Brown would lead the first seven laps before a caution would fly; Garrison Anderson battled side by side with Brown before the caution flew. Anderson chose the bottom side on the restart with his brother Grant Anderson to his outside. Brown would hold onto the lead after that restart with eight to go. Brown would hold off Garrison Anderson to hold on for the win, while behind him, Austin Gray, Grant Anderson, Alex Eischeid, and Dillon Rafferty battled for the third position. Garrison Anderson, Grant Anderson, Alex Eischeid, and Austin Gray rounded out the top five.

After an electrifying finish in the IMCA Mod Lites feature presented by Drury Automotive, we had a B-Feature in the IMCA Stock Cars to lock in the final four starters to race for $1,000.00 courtesy of Midwest Liquid Systems. JJ Baumli, Dustin Kroening, Chase Berkeley, and Clay Erickson locked themselves into the $1,000.00 to win IMCA Stock Cars courtesy of Midwest Liquid Systems.

Ethan Atcheson would be the first one looking into a transfer spot.

After the B-Feature, it was time for the IMCA SportMods feature presented by Rugged Radios as they geared up to go 16 laps. Thomas Lathrop and Austin Kemp led the field to the green flag. Kemp would lead early on, but Brayton Carter took the lead after throwing a slider to take the lead with 14 to go. A caution would fly with ten to go, erasing his lead, which was 2.000 seconds, giving Jenae Gustin a chance to overtake Carter on the restart. Another caution would fly with three to go to once again erase Carter’s lead. Another caution would be to rerack the field. Carter would get a good jump on the restart and hold off a charging Jenae Gustin and Kyle Olson to secure his seventh win at Marshalltown and the IMCA SportMods presented by Rugged Radios. Will Wolf, Kyle Olson, Jenae Gustin, and Austin Kemp rounded out the top five.

Next up was the IMCA Sport Compacts feature presented by Hy-Vee. They geared up to go 15 laps with Tyler Fiebelkorn and Blake Dirscol leading the 13-car field to the green flag. Driscol, Spencer Roggentien, Michael Gardner, Christian Grady, and Campbell Tressler battled it out the whole race for a top five finish; during this battle, Roggentien, who is leading in track points, took the lead. A caution would fly with six to go to rerack the field. Roggentien would hold the lead on the restart. Roggentien would hold off Grady and Gradner to secure his fourth win at Marshalltown Speedway this season. Christian Grady, Michael Gradner, Campbell Tressler, and Caleb Hildebrand rounded out the top five.

The IMCA Modifieds presented by Tire Demon by Love Tap were next on the track for their prospective 20-lap feature. Gat Leyham and Ronn Lauritzen led the field to the green flag. Leyham would lead the first nine laps before Logan Anderson would get past him to grab the lead with ten laps to go, but long after that, Tom Berry Jr. stole the lead from Anderson with nine to go, but a caution would fly to re-rack the field. Berry would hold onto the lead after the restart with a changing Todd Shute was following him in second, but another late caution would fly with seven to go. Shute would grab the lead with six to go. Berry sent it a little bit too hard in turns one and two and would pull his 11X machine to the pit side. Shute would hold off Kollin Hibdon to secure his first win at Marshalltown this season. Dallon Murty, Tripp Gaylord, and Logan Anderson would round out the top five.

Next to the track were the IMCA Hobby Stocks presented by Cappy’s Big 8 Tyre Center, geared up for 16 laps with Derrick McNeece and Brayden Fahrni leading the 24-car field to the green flag. After a few tries to get a lap score due to some cautions, we finally scored one lap with McNeece leading the first lap. Fahrni took the lead with 14 laps to go, but a caution would fly with 13 to go to rerack the field. Another caution would fly with ten to go, with Fahrni battling Solomon Bennett for the lead, as Fahrni was leading at the time of the caution. Another caution flag flew with nine to go, with Fahrni still leading. Fahrni would exit during the caution to give Kolby Sabin the lead under the caution. Another caution flew, and we didn’t score a lap, so the officials reracked the field and got ready for a thrilling nine-lap finish. Sabin would lead following a restart, but another caution flew. Sabin would once again lead after a restart with seven laps to go. Sabin would lead with four to go as another caution would fly, and Eric Knutson would see the black flag due to questionable driving. Eric Stanton would take the lead at the line with two to go and hold off Sabin to secure his second win at Marshalltown this season. Solomon Bennett, Corey VanDerwilt, and Briar Kriegel would round out the top five.

It was time for a nightcap. $1,000.00 was on the line to win for the IMCA Stock Cars courtesy of Midwest Liquid Systems. Braden Richards and Damon Murty led the 24-car field to the green field with 20 laps being the scheduled distance. Damon Murty and Braden Richards battled for the lead for the first few laps, but Richards pulled away from Murty by a few car lengths. A caution would fly with 13 to go, which would rerack the field. Richards would lead after the restart and hold his lead at the halfway point with ten to go, with Jeff Mueller in second trying to chase him down. Mueller would take the lead with four laps to go as Dallon Murty, Mueller and Richards battled it out for the win, Murty would beat Mueller to the line by .247 seconds and became $1.000.00 courtesy of Midwest Liquid Systems. Braden Richards, Jimmy Gustin, Zack VanderBeek, Thor Anderson, Austin Meiners, Brayton Carter, Damon Murty, and Austin Schrage would round out the top ten.
