Crate Racin’ USA National Weekly Points Recap: Week 23 of 30

(Eastaboga, AL – August 7, 2025) — As the Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series surges into the final stretch of the 30-week national points campaign, Week 23 delivered fireworks, close battles, and pivotal gains across all four divisions. With just seven scoring weeks remaining, the pressure is mounting—and the leaders are digging in.

CRUSA Dirt Late Models
Ben Davis of Poplarville, MS continues to hold the top spot with 664 points, but the heat is coming from all directions. Sid Scarbrough remains consistent in second, trailing by just 16 points, while David Williamson stays firmly in third, just 40 points back and carrying the most Top 5 finishes in the top three.

The real shakeups came in the mid-pack: Chris McElhenney broke into the Top 10 after racking up 11 Top 5 finishes in just 12 starts. Meanwhile, Steve Russell, Luke Bennett, and Landon Jackson are battling within single digits for 11th–13th.

Top Storylines:
-Davis holds the most consistent Top 10 streak (26/26).
-Bubba Mullins boasts a division-leading 7 wins.
-Summer Joiner remains the top rookie in the standings with 595 points.

CRUSA Late Model Sportsman
The tightest title fight in the series is happening in the Sportsman division. Brett White retains the top spot at 694 points, but Devin Whatley and Covy Parsons are lurking just 15 and 27 points behind, respectively.

Further down, Allen Edwards and Brandon Lunsford are locked in a heated exchange for fifth and sixth, separated by just six points. Rookie Jarrett Jones remains a contender with 4 wins in only 13 events, while Chace Pennington is turning heads with 8 wins in just 10 starts.

Top Storylines:
-White is still perfect in Top 10 finishes: 19-for-19.
-Whatley’s average finish is creeping closer to White’s as he gains ground.
-Parsons quietly has the most Top 5s in the division.

CRUSA Street Stock
Calvin Martin continues to dominate the Street Stock division with a stellar 697 points, 15 wins, and a perfect Top 10 rate through 24 races. Travis Marsh and rookie Malachi Magee round out the podium positions, though Magee’s zero-win stat remains a surprise at this stage.

The field behind them is deep and fierce: Devin Walker, a rising rookie from Florida, jumped to sixth with 7 wins in just 12 starts. Meanwhile, Cale Buhler and James Sheasby are quietly climbing toward the top 10 with strong recent form.

Top Storylines:
-Martin’s 15 wins are unmatched across all divisions.
-Rookie talent like Magee, Buhler, and Walker are heavily influencing the Top 10.
-Sheedy, Hart, and Farmer battle tightly for 9th–11th.

CRUSA Modified Sportsman
The Modified Sportsman division remains in Colton Grimes’ grip at 580 points, but Luke Riddle isn’t going anywhere. Riddle holds 4 wins and trails by just 49 points. Ron Grandel and Keith Coan continue to anchor the third and fourth spots with consistent runs, but there's a lot of volatility behind them.

Rookies like Chad Gentry are hanging tough in the Top 5, while drivers like Parker Price and Chuck Gipson bring high win counts but need more features to qualify for full points.

Top Storylines:
-Riddle’s efficiency: 10 Top 10s in 11 features.
-Parker Price: 5 wins in 10 events, hinting at big potential.
-Coan quietly boasts 10 Top 5s—tied for second most in the division.

With seven weeks to go and drivers now fine-tuning their best 14 finishes, the race for national titles is tighter than ever. Each weekend could be the turning point—and with many divisions boasting razor-thin margins, every lap, pass, and podium matters.
