Princeton, MN (August 8) – Friday night was Fair Night at the Princeton Speedway as the Mille Lacs County Fair was in full swing. 90 drivers checked in for a night of WISSOTA Dirt Track Race Action, with fans being treated to a Mod Four make-up feature as well as a complete race show including the MN Micro Sprints.

The East Central Sports WISSOTA Mod Fours were the first feature of the night, but it was their make up feature from July. Connor Bruss sped away as the green waved with Keith Thell close behind. The top two drivers separated from the field as laps passed without incident. Connor Bruss held off the charging #00T throughout the race, and took the make-up feature win. Keith Thell grabbed second with Dustin Holtquist, Tyler Larson and Andrew Funt rounding out the top points.

The Hy-Tech Automotive WISSOTA Street Stocks were the first regular feature of the night with Kyle Howland and Steve Eggersgluess on row one. Howland claimed the immediate lead with Layla Chaplin and Eggersgluess side by side for second. Chaplin secured the point, with many drivers door to door to her rear. Kyle Howland stretched his lead the remaining laps, and took the checkers. Thomas Worth, Layla Chaplin, Tommy Pogones and Charlie Shiek grabbed points two through five.

Kris Macko and Kaden Woodie brought the Crystal Cabinets WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds to the green and battled door to door when the flag flew. Woodie snagged the point with Macko battling Adam Bohlman and Parker Frolik for second. A series of cautions kept the drivers slow, but as the race resumed, Bohlman brought the drivers back to green. Erik Gruhlke kept close to Bohlman with the remainder of the field fighting for points. Just as the checkers waved, contact occurred collecting a few cars, but the race was scored as complete. Points two through five were awarded to Erik Gruhlke, Dustin Nelson, Tate Kostreba and Kaden Woodie while Adam Bohlman visited victory lane.

After many rainouts, the MN Micro Sprints finally got to visit Princeton again with Carter Jensrud and Paul Wrazidlo on row one of the feature. Jensrud sped away as the green waved with Wrazidlo in second and Tyler Pelofske in third. Pelofske made the pass and looked ahead at Jensrud, who was over two-seconds ahead. Pelofske, Wrazidlo and Marshall Willing raced close and then three-wide for the runner-up point, and they remained close the final laps. The checkers waved with Carter Jensrud getting the win followed by Praul Wrazidlo, Tyler Pelofske, Marshall Willing and Joe Snow as the top finishers.

A quick caution slowed the Dirt Race Central WISSOTA Modifieds, but the field was reset with Adam Bohlman and Brennan Gave on row one. Ryan Gierke and JT Johnson nearly made the battle for first four-wide as Gave led the way. Gierke slid into second and Cain took third as they chased after Gave. A few laps passed until Gierke stuck a slider for the lead, and Cain followed. Cain remained glued to Gierke’s rear the remaining laps, and with slower traffic in sight, Cain was ready to make his move. Ryan Gierke however held his line, and grabbed the win. Dave Cain finished second with Brennan Gave, Adam Bohlman and JT Johnson as the top five.

Tommy Bawden and Dustin Nelson raced nose to nose for the lead as the Zoomies Race Engines WISSOTA Super Stocks went green. Nelson sped away as Max Nelson made his way through the field. Max Nelson took second and quickly reeled in Dustin Nelson. The pair of Nelson’s battled for the lead as Dustin Nelson continued to hold the point. A slower driver was in sight as the top two raced hard for the top position. The finish came down the final turn of the final lap, and Max Nelson took the win. Dustin Nelson took second with Dylan Kromschroeder, Tommy Bawden and James Trantina rounding out the top five.

The East Central Sports WISSOTA Mod Fours rolled onto the race surface for their second time of the night with an early caution resetting the field. When the race resumed, Rowan Tramm claimed the lead, but soon Dustin Holtquist made the pass. Tramm kept close and dipped to Holtquist’s door, but Holtquist held the point. Dustin Holtquist led the remaining laps and took his #5H to victory lane with remaining top points going to Rowan Tramm, Tyler Larson, Keith Thell and Robert Holtquist.

The WISSOTA Hornets wrapped up the night’s exciting events with Randy Jacoboski and Alex Aderman on row one. Aderman grabbed the lead while Curt Derichs, Christian Kast and Bobie Arnes went three-wide for second. Arnes and Derichs moved forward to challenge Aderman for first with Brady Fosso in tow. The top four kept close and kept pressure as laps passed. Fosso worked the low groove and slowly moved forward until he, Aderman and Arnes were three-wide for first. Fosso snatched the lead, but Aderman and Arnes kept on his bumper. Brady Fosso pulled away the final laps to win his third straight feature at Princeton while Alex Aderman took second with Bobie Arnes, Curt Derichs and Christian Kast in positions three through five.

Next Friday, the Princeton Speedway will take the night off as the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars will be at the Ogilvie Raceway, however, Princeton will be in action on Saturday night. All six regular WISSOTA Classes will be in action, along with the MN Micro Sprints. Racing will resume at 7:00pm.
