Not only were the ASCS-Northwest Region 360 Sprints the only class competing at Cottage Grove Speedway on Saturday May 24th but so was the Northwest Extreme Sprints. A good field of ten drivers signed in on the registration sheets to race for the evening at the historic ¼-mile clay oval.

In the main event the C&H Motorsports/Tangible Real Estate Investments/Carpet & Vinyl Liquidators #3 Zeitler of Dave Hibbard was the early race leader. The Medford driver would set a wicked pace out front but would soon be challenged by Jesse Thistle of Creswell. Thistle would capture the lead on lap four and would despite a handful of cautions would hold on for his second career Sprint Car win but his first at CGS. It was also a complete sweep of the evening’s events for Thistle and the RCV Custom Coach Service/William & Mathis Accounting/Cobalt Computer Services/All Around Printing #4 XXX team.

Dave Hibbard was second followed by the Griffith Family Racing #21 Gambler of Mike Griffith from Fall Creek in third. The rest of the top five would consist of Roseburg’s Dusty Redmond in his Redmond Trucking/Independent Thinning/Whit-Log Trailers #57 Rocket in fourth while fifth was Cottage Grove native Patrick Dills piloting his All Seasons Equipment/Keith Whitaker Trucking/Inside Line Promotions/Jerry Dills Trucking #5D Hurricane.
