Cottage Grove, Oregon- Coming off of the highly successful Marvin Smith Memorial Grove Classic/Aesthetic Surgical Arts Ladies Night the Cottage Grove Speedway will be back in action on Saturday June 7th for Kids Night at the Races. All children of the age twelve and under will get into the races for FREE while kids will have an opportunity to win one of five bikes that will be raffled off during the event. Also folks can find $2.00 off admission coupons at either Boyce & Sons Landscaping and Building Materials, Jim’s Tire Factory, the Cottage Grove Community Center, and Aesthetic Surgical Arts. Classes in action include the Northwest Extreme Sprints, Late Models, Northwest Extreme Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Dwarf Cars.

The Northwest Extreme Sprints have hosted four races and have produced four different main event winners. Dave Hibbard, Danny Horner, Jesse Thistle, and Orion Redmond have all visited victory lane once this season. Will a fifth different driver join them after Saturday? It also sounds like there are going to be some familiar faces returning to racing in this class too on Saturday night.

It seems like forever since the Late Models were on hand but Shaun Mayea enters this weekend as the winner of the last two features. The only other driver to be able to visit the winner’s circle is Shaun’s uncle, Rob, back at the Season Opener on April 12th. The Northwest Extreme Modifieds have only completed one race with Brandon Potter the winner.

The Street Stocks will see their fourth race of the year which boasts a win list that includes Justin Evans with two wins over Ethan Landers with just one. Although the Dwarf Cars have raced just once at CGS they have hosted two additional events at Sunset Speedway Park in Banks. In the three races so far Ryan Martinez has won twice, including once at Cottage Grove, and Corey Esteban.

Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and Racing starts at 6:45. Tickets are Adults $12.00 and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00. For more information log on to www.cottagegrovespeedway.com.
