Racing Returns To SSP July 26th Including The Iron Woman 50

Banks, Oregon- Racing will be back at the "Banks Bullring" on Saturday July 26th with a full card of classes including the biggest race of the year for the Womens division, the inaugural Iron Woman 50. Originally the event was on the schedule for May 10th but unfortunately that was cancelled due to weather. Other classes include the Northwest Wingless Tour, Northwest Extreme Modifieds, Street Stocks, Dwarf Cars, and Micros.

In the Womens division Gabrielle Hollinger and Cori Vandercoevering have been the only two winners so far in 2014. The Northwest Wingless Tour has yet to host a race at the “Banks Bullring” this year due to weather and in the Northwest Extreme Modifieds Oscar Luckman has won three times while Brandon Potter has won once.

John Ireland leads the Street Stocks with three main event victories this year but Freya Smith and Brian Roden have two wins each. Marc Farrar, Tony Catalano, and Eric Claypool Jr. have one win a piece. In the Dwarf Cars Guy Tow Jr. has won the last two straight while Ryan Martinez, Cory Esteban, and Chris McCleary have a single triumph each.

The Micro Open division has yet to see a multi-feature winner as Kaitlyn Hammer, Dustin O’Brien, Spud Allen, and most recently Brock Hallett have all emerged victorious. In the Micro Restricted it has all been Jesse Schlotfeldt as he has scored three wins in as many starts.

Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 3:30, and racing starts at 6:00. Tickets for the event are Adults $12.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a Family Pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
