Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park will be the place to be this Saturday August 9th as the ¼-mile clay oval will host the “Open Wheel Frenzy”. On the card will be the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region, USAC Focus Midgets, and Micro Sprints.
This will be the one and only visit of the year from ASCS-Northwest which will feature the best winged 360 Sprint drivers in the Pacific Northwest. Roger Crockett has three total wins at this venue while Kyle Hirst has just one. This will also be the only visit of the 2014 calendar for the USAC Focus Midgets.
The Micro Sprints have put on some great races so far. In the Open division there have been five different winners in five races. That list includes Kaitlyn Hammer, Spud Allen, Dustin O’Brien, Brock Hallett, and most recently Jeff Broadwell. In the Restricted ranks Jesse Schlotfeldt has won all three races.
Tickets are Adults $15.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $13.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $8.00, Children under the age of 5 are FREE, and Pit Passes will be $30.00. Racing is scheduled to get underway around 6:00 PM. For more information log on to www.sunsetspeedwaypark.com and click “Fan Info”.
