TULSA, Okla. (February 9, 2015) - While the National Tour has just over a week before action gets underway in Florida, the love of Sprint Cars is in the air as the ASCS Southwest Region brings their 2015 season to life this Saturday, February 14 at the Central Arizona Speedway in Casa Grande, Ariz.
First visited in 2013 by the Southwest arm of the American Sprint Car Series, Lorne Wofford drew the first checkered flag. A single trip in 2014 to the high-banked, one-third mile oval saw Alex Pettas in Victory Lane for the first time.
The first of three scheduled visits on the season, this Saturday night is round one of 21 for the Southwest Region in 2015.
Rick Ziehl is the defending champion of the ASCS Southwest Region, going seven for seven since the region's inception. Ziehl is again expected to pilot the John Ziehl No. 20z special. Bob Ream, Jr. brought his Service Launch No. 8 home second in tour standings in 2014 with Joshua Williams, Lance Norick, and 2015 Rookie of the Year, Nick Parker completing the top-five in regional standings.
So if you're looking to trade fine dining, String-Quartets, and overlay priced Chocolates for Dirt, Hot Dogs, and Beer this Valentine's Day; the Central Arizona Speedway will see gates opening at 4:00 P.M. with action getting underway at 6:00 P.M. (MT). The evening's card will also include X-Mods, Pure Stocks, Mod-Lites and Bombers.
