Cottage Grove Speedway would be the site of the third race of the season for the Western Sprint Tour, and the second event of the weekend, on Sunday May 24th. Twenty-eight 360 Sprint Car teams would be on tap representing the states of Oregon, Washington, and California.

In the main event Enumclaw, Washington's Henry Van Dam would take the initial race lead in his Kovash Logging/Johansen Excavating/FK Shocks/Big Al Kids & Motorsports Foundation #33V A.R.T. Van Dam would enter lapped traffic with the race lead and just as things were dicing up the caution would wave on lap five.

On the ensuing restart Henry would still retain the race lead but would receive considerable pressure from Medford chauffeur Roger Crockett. Crockett, in the Rocket Designs/Auto Stitch Embroidery/BC Motorsports/Parker Racing Engines #11 KPC, would make a pass in traffic on Van Dam on lap ten. From there Roger would pull away from the rest of the field.

A red flag incident later in the race would bunch the field up one last time but several lapped cars were between the leader. Crockett would cruise the rest of the distance to win the main event and his second straight WST triumph.

Garen Linder of Central Point would hold on to second at the wire in his Linder Powdercoating/Visual EFX & Designs/Rodgers Racing Engines #22 KPC while Henry Van Dam was third. Puyallup, Washington's Trey Starks would finish fourth in the Southstar Equipment Limited/Starks Timber Processing/Rutz Racing/MASCO Petroleum #55 J&J and in fifth was the Myer's Logging/Automotive Sheetmetal/Trifer Glass & Tinting/Machined For Speed By Craig Jensen #51 XXX of Salem pilot Kyle Miller, driving for car owner Tim Galloway, and recovering after a incident during the formation laps.

Henry Van Dam was fast time of the night while Trey Starks won the trophy dash. Heat winners were the Great Western Transport/Speedmart Inc./Elma Lanes #91 Rocket of Chase Goetz, out of Snohomish, Washington, Roger Crockett, Trey Starks, and Clarksburg, California's Justyn Cox in his Berco Redwood/Berry Lumber/P.M. Truck Repair/LRB Manufacturing #31C A.R.T. Roseburg driver Kyler Barraza won the consolation feature in the Barraza Racing/Johnson Rock/Hedge Carter Gutter Service/Rodgers Racing Engines #87 XXX.

The Western Sprint Tour will be taking about a month off before gearing up for the 2015 Speedweek Northwest. The next event is the Speedweek opener on Sunday June 28th at Siskiyou Motor Speedway in Yreka, California.
