Brad Loyet – The NSL Visits “The Show-Me State”!

(Bill W) May 26, 2015 – Brad Loyet and the Loyet Motorsports/Vacuworx Global #o5 are back in action with the FVP National Sprint League this week. The series will be in the Sunset Hills, Missouri driver’s home state on Thursday at Saint Francois County Raceway near Farmington and Friday at the Randolph County Raceway near Moberly. Saturday plans are a bit in the air, with Knoxville Raceway in Iowa or the Cedar Lake Speedway with IRA as options. Last weekend, Brad surged from eighth to finish third in MOWA action at the I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri.

The heat draw saw Brad start ninth. He would move up to fifth, earning enough passing points to start eighth in the feature. “The track was pretty good,” he says. “It was one of those deals where we drove up to fifth, but with another lap, we may have been able to get up to third. It was really just a matter of track position. We were the first class to go out on the track, but it was decent for a heat race. One more car and we would have made the redraw.”

The #o5 was ready for the feature on the high banks. “We were able to get to fifth fairly quickly,” says Brad. “We had a caution for Paul May. He did like two 360’s on the front straightaway, but they gave him his spot back. It looked like something broke in his front end. He was just trying to hold his line, and we were able to get by (Jordan) Goldesberry and him at the same time.”

That put Brad in third. “(Paul) Nienhiser and (Jerrod) Hull had kind of checked out at that point,” he says. “We had a yellow with seven laps to go and I think there were eight or nine lapped cars between second and me. That was too bad, because with five laps to go or less, they take the lapped cars out.”

A late charge fell up a little short. “We ran up to where Hull was, but by that time, the checkered flag was out,” says Brad. “We had to work hard for our third. We weren’t able to get in a starting position to get the win, but we’re putting ourselves in position to run up front every single night. That’s all we can do.”

Brad is excited for the two NSL shows in Missouri this week. “We’ve been pretty good there,” he says. “We won that race earlier this year there and got disqualified for having the wrong tire on. Everybody says it’s a tricky joint, but I haven’t noticed it. We’ll do the best we can, and try to pick up another win.”
