The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series would take on the Cottage Grove Speedway regulars on Friday July 10th. A total of twenty-three Late Models would compete representing the states of Oregon and Washington. The racing would be very exciting with action all over the race track.
The O&O Farms/Kartco Racing #5 MasterSbilt of Britton Donahoo from Salem would be really fast in the opening stages. Donahoo would stay in front until lap eleven. The driver making the pass on him would be the Jerry Schram owned Schram Brothers Excavating/Century III Stables/Bodies By Steve-O #16W MasterSbilt driven by Jesse Williamson of Eugene.
Williamson would cruise right along and managed to develop a massive lead over the rest of the pack. He would stay in the position for the rest of the way to win his first NELMS race of 2015 and second of his career. It would mark the second occasion that he has been victorious in Late Model competition at CGS this year.
Preston Luckman of Coos Bay was second in his L-N-L Lumber Outlet/Quadel Industries/Q2I Archery #16P Rocket and Vancouver, Washington's Jerry Schram was a close third in the Schram Brothers Excavating/Century III Stables/Bodies By Steve-O #16S MasterSbilt. The rest of the top five would consist of Collen Winebarger, out of Corbett, in his Discount Race Car Parts/Frisbie Motorsports/FinishLine Graphics/Checkered Flag Paving & Sealcoating #S MasterSbilt in fourth and Britton Donahoo would place fifth.
Collen Winebarger was fast time of the night and Cottage Grove's Curtis Towns would win the trophy dash in the Superior Fuel Cells/All Pro Steel/Rapid Delivery Service/Superior Silk Screen & Embroidery #42 X-Factor for car owners Paul and Maria Culp. Heat races were won by the No Drought Potable Water Service/Oregon Fuel Injection #08 Swartz driven by Kye Frick of Sweet Home, Curtis Towns, and Jesse Williamson. Ron Brewster from Redmond would win the consolation feature in his Central Oregon Trucking/W.W. Trailers/Driving Force Graphics/Ohlins by JDR #31B Rocket.
