WST Readies For Ore-Cal Challenge

The Western Sprint Tour will be renewing a tradition that Interstate Sprint Car Series started back in 2011, the Ore-Cal Challenge. It is a doubleheader for the WST where they visit Yreka, California's Siskiyou Motor Speedway on Friday August 14th and then travel across the border to Southern Oregon Speedway in White City on Saturday the 15th.
In the two previous editions there have been two different winners of the Ore-Cal Challenge. Garen Linder was declared the winner in 2011 despite not winning a race over the weekend. Kyle Hirst would sweep the weekend in the 2012 edition the following year.
The Western Sprint Tour has paid just one visit to Yreka in 2015 and that resulted in Colby Copeland taking the win to open up this year's Speedweek Northwest. Southern Oregon has host the WST twice and has seen two different winners. They are Roger Crockett and Colby Copleland.
Siskiyou Motor Speedway will be hosting the race while the annual Siskiyou Golden Fair is taking place and this race is historically well attended with the grandstands being packed from rail to rail. It should have a really good car count in the pits as $5,000.00 will be given to the winner at the end of the night. That should attract some of top teams of the Pacific Northwest as well as the Golden State.
The next night the fans are in for a real treat at Southern Oregon Speedway especially the young fans. SOS will be offering a Kids Night promotion which will get fans TWELVE YEARS OLD AND YOUNGER INTO THE RACES FOR FREE. It's a great way to take the whole family out to watch some great races and spend time together.
The Western Sprint Tour is the Pacific Northwest region's most premier touring 360 Sprint car series.
