Willamette Speedway would host another night of great racing action on Saturday August 15th. With a couple of local tracks dormant for the weekend it allowed some traveling teams to tackle the historic 1/3-mile clay oval. Division in competition included the Super Dirt Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Sportsman, and Street Stocks.

Corbett's Collen Winebarger would park his Discount Race Car Parts/FinishLine Graphics/Crocker's Cars/Sweere Trucking #S MasterSbilt in victory lane for the first time in Super Dirt Late Model competition after so many tries. But the night of success didn't stop there for the youngster. Winebarger would also be triumphant in IMCA Modified competition marking the seventh occasion that he has been victorious in the class in his Discount Race Car Parts/FinishLine Graphics/Crocker's Cars/Sweere Trucking #S Shaw by Taylor.

Junction City veteran Sandy Sanders found his way back to the winner's circle after a bit of an absence. Six times the Royalty Homes #43 Avenger has won with Sanders at the wheel but when you include the victory by Kevin Williamson earlier in the campaign it brings the team's total to seven. Finally Kyle Yeack did what Kyle Yeack does best, and that is winning. That makes it nine races that Yeack and his Cascade Outdoor Power Equipment/Laura Gillott at Keller Williams Reality/Unlimited Business Service #47 Cutlass has taken pictures on the front stretch.

Willamette Speedway's next event is Karts on Friday August 21st. Saturday evening, the 22nd, will feature the IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and the Late Model Lites. It should be a very fun weekend for all.

General Admission to the Friday Kart race will be FREE of charge. Pit Passes are $10.00 and Car and Driver fees will be $30.00. The Pit Gate will open up around 4:00 PM and Racing is scheduled to begin around 6:30.
