Cotton Bowl Speedway Welcomes the WoO Craftsman Sprint Car Series For the First Time Ever
For the first time ever the World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series will take on Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas.
The quarter-mile track, 35 miles east of Austin, plays host to the ATX Rentals Outlaw Shootout on Friday, Feb. 26.
"We are always excited to return the World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series to Texas, where the series was born," said Series Director Carlton Reimers. "To have the opportunity to do that in a great new venue like Cotton Bowl Speedway only adds to the excitement. The World of Outlaws looks forward to writing a new chapter as it heads to the Lonestar State."
Tickets for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series' inaugural ATX Rentals Outlaws Shootout at Cotton Bowl Speedway are on sale now and available by calling 844-DIRT-TIX (347-8849) or by visiting WorldofOutlaws.com/Tickets.
The 'Greatest Show on Dirt' kicked off the season last week during DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla. Brad Sweet and his Kasey Kahne Racing teammate Daryn Pittman were dominant throughout with Sweet taking home two of three series wins and the coveted 'Big Gator'.
In spite of his first DNF since 2013, reigning series champion, Donny Schatz rebounded on night two of DIRTcar Nationals, holding off Pittman to win his first feature of the season.
Cotton Bowl is the first of two nights for the Outlaws in Texas that weekend. After taking on Cotton Bowl, the Outlaws roll east to Baytown, Texas to compete at Royal Purple Raceway Park on Saturday, Feb. 27. It will be the Outlaws' first appearance at Royal Purple since the 2011 season.
