Banks, Oregon- After the disappointing rain out on Wednesday June 15th at Willamette Speedway the Wild West Modified Shootout would continue on Friday the 17th at Oregon’s Sunset Speedway Park in Banks. The tight ¼-mile bullring would be the smallest track of the 2016 tour and provided some stellar action all night long. Come main event time it would be a stacked front row featuring Kellen Chadwick, of Oakley, California, and Fenton, Missouri’s Ken Schrader. On the initial start Chadwick would rise to the occasion and took advantage of his outside front row position to get to the front. He went right to work on establishing a large lead.

Chadwick would check out to over a straightaway gap between him and Ken Schrader. Just as lapped traffic was coming into the picture a lap ten caution would be thrown for debris. It would be the first of five cautions that would occur throughout the thirty-five lap main.

The rest of the feature would be stop and go for several laps before the final restart on lap twenty-eight. Chadwick continued to set a rapid pace and would have absolutely no issues. He would stay there for the remainder of the distance to win his third Wild West Modified Shootout of the year and his career.

Ken Schrader would hold on for second place with Lakewood, Colorado’s Tripp Gaylord ending his night in third. Mark Carrell of Redmond was fourth while Ryan Gaylord, the older of the two brothers and also from Lakewood, got fifth after coming out of the B Main.

Three B Mains were ran with the top four transferring out. Travis Peery of Williston, North Dakota, Tigard’s Mark Reser, and Albany native Matthew Drager were the winners.
