Cottage Grove, Oregon- Cottage Grove Speedway will be the place to be on Independence Day. The historic ¼-mile clay oval will be hosting Speedweek Northwest on Monday July 4th. This race will feature 360 Sprint Cars from all over the country as well as Canada and New Zealand. Also competing will be IMCA Modifieds and Street Stocks.

There have been just a handful of 360 Sprint races at CGS this year and Roger Crockett is the only pilot to have won twice in 2016. Trey Starks and this year’s Marvin Smith Memorial Grove Classic winner Jason Solwold are one-time winner’s circle visitors this year.

The IMCA Modifieds have been quite busy over the last month. Mark Wauge still has the most victories in the current campaign, at three, but is being caught by drivers who have won twice, Collen Winebarger, Craig Hanson, and Jake Mayden. Single race winners include Jesse Williamson, Kellen Chadwick, Kinzer Cox, and Curtis Towns.

In the Street Stocks Chris Sine is still the guy with more than one win. Sine currently has two victories while single race winners are Kevin Williamson, Kyle Yeack, and Evan Britton.

Monday night tickets are Adults $15.00, Juniors/Seniors $12.00, Youth (6-12) $6.00, and Children 5 or under are FREE. Front Gates open at 4:00 PM with Racing beginning around 6:30. For more information log on to www.cottagegrovespeedway.com and check out the track’s Facebook page and click “Like”.
