TULSA, Okla. (September 29, 2016) What took just over a week to do for the 2016 Speedway Motors Tulsa Shootout has been done in a matter of days as Golden Driller hopefuls from across the globe are signing up at a record pace for the 32nd annual Speedway Motors Tulsa Shootout; which runs December 28, 2016 through January 1, 2017 at the Tulsa Expo Raceway inside the River Spirit Expo Center.

“Last year, we had 61 entries after the first day. This year we had over 100 and we are already coming up on the 300 mark and it’s only been three days,” commented Ashleigh Ward, who oversees entries for the Speedway Motors Tulsa Shootout.

So far, the number of entries published stands at 238 among 109 drivers from 19 states and two countries (USA and Aust.). The highest class count for a single drivers so far is six. Making the trip from Mifflintown, Penn., Tyler Walton will take part A-Class winged and non-wing as well as Outlaw winged and non-wing. Walton will also see action in both divisions of 1,200cc Mini Sprints.

Looking to exceed the 2016 edition, the 31st annual event drew 615 drivers for 1,249 entries across nine divisions. This year’s “Marathon of Micros” will include the same lineup of classes, but has added an extra day to the format.

“Last year, we were going 12-16 hours at a time, and that was just wearing our track crew, as well as the teams, out,” said Tulsa Shootout director, Matt Ward. “Adding the extra day will give us a chance to give everyone a breather as well as allow teams and fans time to enjoy being in Tulsa.”

Divisions for the 32nd annual Speedway Motors Tulsa Shootout include Winged and Non-Wing 600cc Outlaw Micros, A-Class 600cc Micros, ASCS ECOtech Midgets, Restricted Micros,1200cc Winged Mini Sprints, 1200cc Non Wing Mini Sprints and the exciting Jr. Sprint class for the kids from 6-12.

Taking place Wednesday, December 28, 2016 through Sunday, January 1, 2017 the entry process began on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. Early entry for the Speedway Motor Tulsa Shootout will conclude on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. After that, any additional entries will have to be made at the event during check-in on Tuesday, December 27, 2016.

Entries received between September 27, 2016 and December 6, 2016 will charged $100 per class entered. On December 7, 2016, the cost per class entered goes up to $120.
